Dreaming about exploring the far corners of the globe, I traveled great distances in my mind when I was a small boy. Surely there could no finer and nobler expression of freedom and fullness of life than to conduct expeditions into the mysterious and extreme reaches of our planet. To meet its people and discover its amazing secrets. My favorite television shows back then were Mutual of Omaha’s: The Wild Kingdom, and The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau. From my tiny perspective, there was nobody with a cooler career than those of Jacques and Marlin Perkins.
Stamping a distinct impression on me, I dreamed that one day, I too would become an explorer.
I believe that because I have imagined it so clearly and consistently in my mind, and because I have pursued this passion literally to the ends of the Earth………………... along the way…………… that is exactly who I became.
These experiences have led me to believe that anyone who is capable of imagining anything is also capable of pursuing their dreams and making them real. BOOK AN EVENT
Encouraging me to tell real life tales of my world travels, my gregarious nieces and extended family helped me realize that they actually wanted to be included in the story and to envision what it might be like to go there with me.
I eventually recorded the first in a developing series of audio adventures collectively entitled, The Adventures of Stevie the Guide®. My first attempt, Exploring the Amazon Jungle is a 43 minute story with music and sound effects that will take you from our home in The Texas Hill Country to the South American Republic of Ecuador where you will travel into the Amazon Jungle and become a guest of the Huaodani Indians.
